The foundations of Islam are based on a strong bond of Faith by the followers towards their supreme power and their messenger. Islam specifies that one who follows the faith of Islam should have absolute faith in the preaching and there should be no shadow of doubt. One who doubts the preaching of the Holy book and the messages of Prophet becomes a non-believer and he is then no longer a Muslim. Islam is a perfect religion. Its teachings are simple and can easily be practiced by everyone. It gives reason for each of its commandments and teachings. The Holy Quran, which is the religious scripture of the Muslims, is the word of Allah. This book is exactly the same as it was revealed to the Holy Prophet (May peace and blessings of Allah be on him). Allah has promised to safeguard it.
Apart from the five pillars in Islam, the foundation of Islam also lies on the following main Articles of faith.
1. To believe in the Oneness of Allah.
2. To believe in all His Angels.
3. To believe in all His Books.
4. To believe in all His Prophets.
5. To believe in the Day of Resurrection.
Islam preaches the Oneness of god and Allah is the only supreme power. Angels are spiritual beings created by Allah to help the Prophets spread their messages. The Holy Quran, which is the book of Allah, is the code for all the Muslims and it has to be believed and followed as it is, as it is the word of God. Believing in all his prophets is also a main thing, as prophets are the ones who render the services of giving the divine messages of Allah to the world. To believe in the Day of Resurrection is important, because Islam says that on the Day of Resurrection, we will be raised by Allah and we will be judged according to the deeds we did in the world. Those who did good deeds will be given paradise and those who didn’t will be punished in hell.
